While traveling in West Africa, Brian Shimkovitz found himself buying cassette tapes of obscure African musicians.
His collection soon grew to thousands of tapes.
Shimkovitz started a blog and called it “Awesome Tapes from Africa.” He started a record label and will release these tapes onto CD for the first time.
