The Chicago Symphony Orchestra Travels to Russia

For the Geo Quiz, we are tracking the whereabouts of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra.

The 1,800-person orchestra is a long way from home on tour in a Russian city that we want you to name.

Unlike Chicago with its “El” trains, the city’s metro stops are deep underground and are famously decorated with marble sculptures and chandeliers.

The last time the Chicago Orchestra came this way was in 1990, just before the fall of the Soviet Union.

Back then, this Soviet city had fewer loaves of bread on the shelves, fewer billionaires and was home to the Politburo: the governing body of the Communist Party.
