Isolated Long Lost Kingdom of the Himalayas

For the Geo Quiz, we're looking for a long lost kingdom.

No, it's not El Dorado, the mythical city of gold.

The Lost Kingdom we want you to name is a real place in the Himalayan mountains.

About 1,000 years ago, the Buddhists there broke away from the Tibetan Empire.

It's located in the very north of India, in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

The Kingdom is isolated other than two months a year when the river freezes over and people can cross over to India.

Can you name the remote kingdom?

The answer is Zanskar, and guest Daniel Grushkin visited five years ago.
