A Meeting With Royalty

For the Geo Quiz, we are looking for a small city on the South Saskatchewan river in Alberta, Canada. It’s sometimes called “the Gas City” because of the large natural gas resources there but the city gets its name from an ancient American Indian legend. The story goes that a Blackfoot hunter gained special powers when he donned a medicine man’s hat.
And there you go, the answer is the Canadian city of Medicine Hat.
A resident of Medicine Hat is about to live out a dream deferred. Frances Miller will soon meet British royalty, a chance she missed as a young girl in 1939. Anchor Lisa Mullins talks with her.
