Iranian Woman Voter Shares Thoughts on Election Results

The World

Iran’s new president Hassan Rouhani is a cleric who’s worked for decades within Iran’s conservative establishment, but he was also the more moderate of the six candidates on the ballot last week.

And he has a reputation for being “pragmatic.” That’s given hope to those who hope for a change in Iran.

Before the election, we spoke to one Iranian voter who wanted a change: a teacher in her 40″²s from a town near Tehran.

She told us that the future would be bleak if one of the more conservative candidates won.

We were curious to hear how she feels now, so we called her up again. As before, she asked that we not use her name.
