Rescuers are still searching for victims missing after flash floods swept through a campground in southwest Arkansas on Friday, claiming the lives of at least 19 people, including six children.
Heavy rain triggered flash flooding of the Caddo and Little Missouri Rivers early Friday morning. The floods caught many campers by surprise as river waters rose almost ten feet between midnight and 6 a.m. Many of the flood victims were likely still asleep when their tents began to fill with water. We talk with Amy Upshaw, reporter for the Arkansas Democrat Gazette, who’s been reporting on the flood.
