Japanese authorities are battling to cool overheating nuclear reactors at a power station damaged in Friday's earthquake and tsunami following a second explosion in 48 hours. The operators of the damaged Fukushima nuclear plant warned of the risk of a possible meltdown after the nuclear fuel rods at one reactor were exposed.
