As France’s President prepares to visit Mali this weekend, Amnesty International is claiming that the French-led offensive in the north has caused civilian deaths and ethnic reprisals.
France sent 3,500 troops to Mali in a rapid campaign to oust Islamists linked to al-Qaeda.
Human rights groups say what appears to be a successful campaign has come at great cost to the country.
