Lulu Gainsbourg’s “From Gainsbourg to Lulu”
Lucien Gainsbourg, the son of the late legendary French singer-songwriter Serge Gainsbourg has recorded covers of his father’s best loved songs for his debut album.
Lucien, or “Lulu” Gainsbourg says he meant this album as a heartfelt tribute to his father who died when Lulu was only five years old. He also hopes that after this tribute, he can focus on his own music.
Lulu Gainsbourg studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston and now calls New York home. He says he loves being in New York as this lets him be “just a random guy.”
The album “From Gainsbourg to Lulu” features a range of performers from France and the US, including himself, Johnny Depp, Rufus Wainwright, Matthieu Chedid, Iggy Pop and Scarlett Johannson.
