A Russian Protest Song

The World

Thousands of Russians gathered last weekend near the Kremlin. They chanted slogans and accused authorities of ballot-stuffing in the December 4 parliamentary election.

They also made their views known on video.

An alternative newspaper asked protesters to say a word that best describes the day.

The newspaper recorded those responses and set it to music by a Russian’s 80s band Kino.

Anchor Marco Werman speaks with Courtney Weaver, a reporter for the Financial Times in Moscow, about the viral video.
