Russia recognizes regions’ independence

AD says the recognition of independence was inevitable: it’s based on the will of the Abkhazian and South Ossetian people, as well as the will of their parliament and the Russian parliament. This was unavoidable because of the Georgian President’s actions in the region. (I don’t remember any vote in either territory). They have expressed their will several times over the past few years. (Then why is this action happening now?) Because of the Georgian President’s actions and aggression. There’s no way they can coexist with Georgia in a single state. (Is Moscow worried about international isolation?) Isolation is a strong word, I would not use. Yes, we have disagreements with the U.S. administration but we believe this discussion should be based on the principals of mutual respect.
