Puerto Rico primary

Fair Game
The World

In the rush to move state primaries earlier and earlier, everyone wanted to be first, but no one paid attention to what may be more important, who is last. On June 7th, Puerto Rico, which is a territory of the United States, holds the final caucus on the Democratic calendar. The victor earns 63 delegates, more than South Carolina, Oklahoma, or Connecticut. That means when you look at the whole electoral picture – Puerto Rico – a country that we were using as recently as 2003 as a bomb testing site – may be a bigger prize than California.
