Mice have actually been quite outgoing throughout the centuries. This scientist says the mouse actually originated in the northern Indian subcontinent, but spread from their on its own to the Middle East, and from there have managed to travel throughout the world. So did mice travel the same route as the people? That’s what the scientist and his team set out to answer. They used mouse DNA from specimen in the British Aisles in areas once peopled by Norwegian Vikings. The mice there turned out to be genetically similar to mice in Norway. This suggests that Norwegian Vikings were unintentionally taking the mice around. The scientists tried the same experiment in New Zealand and found the genetic patterning of the mice, the patterning relates to human history. This correlation could be a valuable archeological tool because there are gaps in the knowledge of how people moved about the earth.
