After making a splash in Europe, the delightful V.V. Brown releases her first album, Travelling Like the Light, in the U.S. today.
And she’ll perform a set at the Apple Store in Soho tonight at 7 p.m. (It’s free!)
Not in New York City? You can still see V.V. play live. She stopped by Studio 360 in February and performed the track “Crying Blood:”
‘Good art comes from being open-minded. And for me,’ says the U.K.-based child of a Jamaican mother and Puerto Rican father, ‘that’s an international thing.’ Listen to V.V. and Kurt’s full conversation here.

At The World, we believe strongly that human-centered journalism is at the heart of an informed public and a strong democracy. We see democracy and journalism as two sides of the same coin. If you care about one, it is imperative to care about the other.
Every day, our nonprofit newsroom seeks to inform and empower listeners and hold the powerful accountable. Neither would be possible without the support of listeners like you. If you believe in our work, will you give today? We need your help now more than ever! Every gift will be matched 2:1, so your impact will go even further.
