Music, Culture and Conflict in Mali
Mali is slowly recovering from a conflict in the north where Islamic extremists had taken over and imposed sharia law.
That included a ban on music.

British journalist Andy Morgan used to manage the Malian Touareg band, Tinariwen.
He’s just published a book titled “Music, Culture and Conflict in Mali.”
