The take on Iraq in Unity, NH

The World

The Democrats want to make the political story of the day all about Unity. This New Hampshire Senator, a Republican, went after Obama’s political experience and played up McCain’s national security credentials. He mentioned visiting plenty of global places, but not Iraq. McCain however did mention Iraq, and advocated staying the course. He’s hoping his history in the state will help him, but the poli-sci professor says national security is McCain’s strongpoint but he’ll still have to disentangle national security from the War in Iraq. A recent New Hampshire poll spells that out, as 38% of respondents said winning the war in Iraq is the most important goal for the next US president, while 56% said it should be bringing the troops home.
