This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Peace Corps. President John F. Kennedy started the program by executive order on March 1st, 1961. Since then, more than 200, 000 Americans have served in the Peace Corps. The World’s Marco Werman is a veteran of the program. He was a Peace Corps volunteer in Togo, West Africa.
