“A senior Indian official was telling me this only today: that the Pakistan army wants to keep relationship with India bad because that justifies its existence.” –Sir Mark Tully

The Indian government is under a lot of pressure. International tensions are mounting since a terror spree claimed more than 188 lives. Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari met with Condoleeza Rice yesterday, vowing to take ?strong action? against any parties in Pakistan that may have contributed to the terrorist attacks. Sir Mark Tully is a former BBC correspondent for South Asia and shares his perspective with The Takeaway from the BBC bureau in New Delhi.
