The World

Strong winds and heavy rains are forecast for today’s Geo Quiz:

The Atlantic hurricane season gets underway next week.

Forecasters at the National Oceanographic and Atmospheric Administration predict a so-called “normal” season.

That could mean as many as 9 hurricanes.

Elsewhere in the world — though — big storms go by other names.

The one that hit India and Bangladesh this week was a cyclone… named Aila.

More than a hundred people died because of the storm.

Disaster response teams in both countries are rushing to help thousands of people left stranded and homeless by the storm surge.

Our question to you is … where did this cyclone gather its strength?

We’re looking for the name of the body of water just south of the areas where cyclone Aila came ashore.

We’ll reveal the answer right after today’s Global hit.
