Each fall wild Chinook or King salmon swim upstream the Sacramento River to spawn, creating one of the most robust salmon runs on the west coast. But not this year. The salmon have almost completely disappeared leaving a $150 million fishery in the lurch. Peter Moyle, a professor of fisheries at UC Davis, has been studying the ecology and conservation of freshwater and estuarine fish in California for over 35 years and he speaks with Faith Salie on Fair Game.
