Michelle Obama has denied rumors that she is considering a 2016 senate run, Politico reported.

The First Lady, who is currently on a media tour promoting her new book about farming and the White House garden called "American Grown," told the View on Tuesday that she is "absolutely not" interested in pursuing a political career.

“I have no interest in politics — never have, never will,” said Obama, according to Politico.

The rumors of a potential Hilary Clinton-esque jump into politics started last week in New York Times' columnist Frank Bruni's piece titled "Second Acts for First Ladies."

"One of the things I love best about political commentary is how quickly it gets ahead of itself. I speak of the Michelle 2016 drumbeat," Bruni wrote on May 21. "…And in truth it’s less drumbeat than flute warble, but still. It’s out there: a vague murmuring about whether the first lady might, for example, seek a United States Senate seat from Illinois."

In interviews this week, however, Obama reiterated her firm "no" to entering the political realm beyond supporting her husband President Barack Obama.

"I'm going to fight as hard as I can," she told USA Today of Obama's re-election campaign. "I'm going to work as hard as I can to make sure that we have him for another four years, because there is a lot left to do."

Michelle Obama has a packed schedule for her book promotion, which is part of her "Let's Move!" initiative to fight obesity in America.

After appearances on ABC's "Good Morning America" and "The View" Tuesday, Obama is set to chat with Comedy Central's Jon Stewart on "The Daily Show" on Wednesday, Politico reported. The First Lady will also tape an interview for "LIVE! with Kelly" while in New York next Wednesday, and her visit to the "Rachael Ray Show" is set to air next Thursday.
