French Band Nouvelle Vague’s Hommage to American Rockers Queens of the Stone Age

The World

Olivier Libaux is a founding member of the French cover band Nouvelle Vague. Nouvelle Vague, whose name in French means "new wave," gained notoriety several years ago with a series of albums turning new wave rock songs by artists like the Talking Heads into dreamy bossa nova.

Libaux is back at it again. This time covering the California rock n' roll band, Queens of the Stone Age. The resulting album, Uncovered Queens of the Stone Age was released this summer. Libaux enlisted several female vocalists including Inara George from the band The Bird and The Bee. The result is twelve Queens of the Stone Age tracks like you've never heard them before. Listen for yourself.
