Is President Bashar Assad winning in Syria?
Although the Syrian president says the country intends to participate a peace United Nations peace in the coming weeks, in a televised address yesterday President Assad sounded confident that with the help of Hezbollah fighters and his Russian and Iranian allies his regime would prevail in the civil war underway.
Increasingly, it seems President Assad has good reasons to be confident. Syria’s allies are standing firm while Syrian opposition and international community remain unable to organize a strong, unified response.
