The tornado “came quick… it was like a train coming and then all of a sudden gusts of wind and then rain, real strong rain, hit the area. We’re like two blocks away when this happened, mind you, and me and my friend were like, ‘we’re gonna die.’ It was very, very close. It came in quickly and it left quick,” Joseph Myers a Joplin, Missouri, resident told The Takeaway. Rachel Hubbard, general manager and news director at KOSU, also talks about the reconstruction efforts.
