Mexico City’s One-Day Music Festival Son Por La Tradicion

For the Global Hit we are going to hear the sounds of a musical festival that was held over the weekend in Mexico City.

The festival, called “Son por la Tradición” or Song for The tradition.

More than 60 musicians and bands took part.

The goal was to promote Mexico’s many varieties of traditional music.

But with Mexico literally under the gun of drug-related violence, organizers and participants had an additional objective.

They wanted to give Mexicans something positive to unite around.
