A new government ruling removes the Chamber of Engineers and Architects from all city planning decisions in Turkey.
Opposition groups have called the move a “witch hunt.” They see it as revenge for the architects’ involvement in the recent protests over government plans to redevelop Istanbul’s Gezi Park.
