For months, JJ Abrams and Steven Spielberg have been keeping audiences guessing about their new film, “Super 8.”
Here’s what we know about: It centers on a group of pre-teens in the late 1970s who witness a train crash while making their own low-budget film. After the crash, the kids begin to notice strange things happening in their town. Beyond that, everyone involved in the film has stayed tight-lipped, much to the curiosity of fans. Fortunately, The Takeaway’s Movie Date podcast hosts have seen it. Rafer Guzman, film critic for Newsday, and Kristen Meinzer, a culture producer for The Takeaway, tell us what they can without giving anything away.
