It’s been a bad week for Rupert Murdoch’s media group, News Corporation. Murdoch’s British newspapers have become engulfed in a phone-hacking scandal that has enraged public opinion and led to the closure of the paper at its center, The News of the World. On Wednesday, Murdoch’s company withdrew its controversial bid for a full take-over of the British broadcaster BSkyB.
