So far, allied force has halted pro-Gadhafi forces in their tracks in the East, keeping Benghazi under rebel control. However, American officials maintain that this operation is not about providing the rebels with air support, and have said explicitly that Gadhafi is not on the target list, yet questions remain as to what happens if Gadhafi remains after the UN force has met its objectives.
