The tornado, which flattened much of Joplin, Missouri also passed through St. Johns Hospital on Sunday evening, leaving all 183 patients, and any incoming tornado victims, without a place to go for help. Fortunately, the Via Christi Hospital in nearby Pittsburg, Kansas was ready to join in the rescue and relief efforts.
