If you attend a political event, you’re very likely to notice the music. It’s been chosen to convey a message, one of hope, or patriotism or even of sticking together. And while the politicians are careful about what they choose, sometimes the musicians are none-too-pleased to be included.

In Oregon, there’s rumblings of discontent over how much herbicide the state uses to keep its highway shoulders cleared. Some counties have pesticide-free promises, but that doesn’t apply to state roads. In some states, though, herbicides are on the decline.

Just one town in the United States is named after an Algerian, Muslim jihadist. Elkader, Iowa, is home to probably just two Muslims, gay men who run a local Algerian restaurant.

As the Internet becomes even more integrated in our day-to-day lives, more people are trying to make sure they put their best foot forward on the first page of a Google search of their name. They’re turning to new companies to help them do that.

Tennessee recently passed a law that allows businesses to ban languages other than English in the workplace. Many businesses and employees hate it.
