Soccer legend David Beckham and his wife Victoria have welcomed their first daughter into the world.
The girl, named Harper Seven Beckham, is the fourth child for the couple, who already have three sons.
Harper Seven was delivered at Cedars Sinai hospital in Los Angeles on Sunday.
"I am so proud and excited to announce the birth of our daughter Harper Seven Beckham," England footballer Beckham said in a statement on his Facebook page.
"She weighed a healthy 7lbs 10oz and arrived at 7.55 this morning, here in LA. Victoria is doing really well and her brothers are delighted to have a baby sister xx".
Victoria Beckham, a former pop star in the band the Spice Girls, was congratulated by her band mates.
Mel B, who is expecting her third child later this year, took to Twitter, writing: "congrats!!! Yipeee another spice baby is born, damn it wish it was me this AM cos I feel like I'm about to POP!"
Another former Spice Girl Emma Bunton tweeted: "Big kiss to @victoriabeckham can't wait to meet your gorgeous little girl!"
Married since in 1999, the Beckhams already have three boys – Brooklyn, 11, Romeo, eight, and Cruz, five.
Victoria had spoken in the past about her desire for a daughter, but the origin of the name is mysterious.
Some wags on Twitter have spoken of the couple’s desire to honor reclusive writers (that would be Harper Lee) and their favorite Brad Pitt film (the gruesome Seven.)
