Sequestration Could Impact Israel’s ‘Iron Dome’ Missile Defense

No deal in Washington, and the sequester is on.

Israel gets billions of dollars in aid from Washington every year, and some of that could now get sequestered.

That could put a serious squeeze on Israel’s defense budget, and potentially impact vital missile defense programs.

Haviv Rettig Gur of the Times of Israel has crunched the numbers.

“Concern about sequestration is not very high among the American public,” says Gur. “But in the Israeli defense community it’s everyone.”
