Your Take: Should the US be in Libya?

The Takeaway

As the United States plays an active role in Libya in an effort to stop Col. Gadhafi’s forces from advancing on rebel territory, questions arise about whether or not this is a proper role for the U.S. Tom from Boulder, Colo. called to say: “Everything that we’ve seen from Gadhafi is that he is a madman who just needs to be taken out of power. If the United States did not get involved, the whole world would be just criticizing them for doing such a thing.” Wade Hamon from Cherryville, Kansas disagrees: “While Gadhafi and his government are obviously blood thirsty folks who don’t care about even life one iota, I am 100 percent opposed to U.S. invention. It is dangerous and puts our citizens more risk and further diminishes the stature of the United States throughout the world.”
