Walt & Mearsheimer in Israel

Walt and Mearsheimer got straight to their point in Tel Aviv about pro-Israel lobby groups and their affect on the US and Israeli governments. They received applause at this speech, which might seem surprising. In the US, many Jewish leaders vilified Walt and Mearsheimer and their book, even calling dangerous. But in Israel the response is more tepid. This group that invited the authors said their talk was interesting up to a point, and that their views can already be heard in Israel. NGOs and parliamentarians here routinely pick at the government policies and they target US lobby groups as well. Walt and Mearsheimer were interviewed by some radio channels, but no major newspapers picked up the story.
