Protecting coral reefs in the Caribbean

The World

This man is a diving instructor in Bonaire. He takes visiting divers out to Bonaire’s reefs and using the right tanks is crucial. You breathe through a regulator which makes the air suitable for human lungs. Strap a tank on, it’s dive time. This woman manages the Bonair National Marine Park and she says you can step on coral when diving and coral is fragile. Down below you never know what you’ll find. Everyone who dives has to wear a token and the money used from buying tokens is spent on protecting the reef. Protect the reef and you protect Bonaire’s economy. When the air is done, the dive is done.
