Nirvana Flashback

Studio 360
The World

Last week, we presented our latest exploration on an American Icon – the 20-year-old rock album Nevermind by Nirvana. And we heard from lots of you about how the album colored and captured an important moment in your lives.
Listener Scott Raley of San Antonio, Texas, told us via Facebook that he first heard the album in Naples, Italy: “I was in the Navy and we had just pulled into port. One member of our team had just received the CD in the mail right before we stepped off the ship. We walked around Naples until we found a bar that would let us play the CD.”
Finally, they found an empty bar with a friendly DJ and rocked out. “There’s nothing funnier in life than a three-person mosh pit.”
