Meet Google’s ‘secretary of state’

The World

Yesterday, we talked about Google’s emerging foreign policy, as it deals with take-down requests from governments around the world. Today, we speak to the executive who is in effect the company’s “Secretary of State.”

Nicole Wong is Google’s Deputy General Counsel. She oversees Google’s policies and decisions in this domain, and discusses the search giant’s move off of mainland China, their continuing efforts on transparency, and their decision to share the number of content requests from governments around the world.
