India’s call centers

Fresh from college, young men and women are learning various English accents. And indeed it helps if they know the cultures from the countries they’ll receive calls from. These are considered good jobs, but the U.S. economic crisis is a real threat. India’s $11 billion dollar call center industry received 70% of its work from the U.S. the financial turmoil in America means its already slowing growth will go down into a lower gear. This Indian economics expert says their economic goals are receding. This company leader says the impact on the economic sector in India is immediate. India’s exports too depend heavily on the U.S. the U.S. is India’s biggest customer. This analyst says the impact will be on the financial sector rather than the real economy.
