Chile awaits start of mine rescue
The first man to be freed from the San Jose mine in northern Chile is expected to reach the surface later today, Mining Minister Golborne says. He said the rescue operation could begin in the �last quarter of the day�, once final safety tests had been carried out. 33 men were trapped in the mine since August 5. Lisa Mullins talks with James Stefanic, operations manager for US-Chilean company Geotec Boyles Bros. They’ve been in charge of the �Plan B� escape shaft.
