Michael Moffett

Michael Moffett reports about Spain for GlobalPost. He reported live from the Madrid train bombings for Fox News while producing field reports of the aftermath that culminated in the 2004 upset election victory of Spanish President José Luis Rodriguez Zapatero. He reported and presented news for U.S. broadcasters in Florida, Montana and his native California before moving to Spain in 1992. He was Iberia correspondent for the Deutsche Welle TV news magazine "European Journal," airing on PBS. Moffett has produced in-depth political, economic, social and cultural stories across Spain and Portugal. He shot his own stories in Spain, Gibraltar, Morocco, and Ecuador for New York Times Television and Associated Press Television News with newer, small cameras in the 1990s. He has produced and directed for Discovery Channel and National Geographic Channel. Most recently he has written and directed a feature-length documentary about American Muslims. He graduated cum laude from the University of Southern California with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism and international relations.
