Trump ready to run

Donald Trump said on Monday that he may run as a third-party presidential candidate if the Republican Party picks the “wrong candidate.”

“I just see the candidates go up and down, it’s like yo-yos, they go up and down, they’re gone, they’re forever forgotten, then they re-emerge. What’s going on is very strange,” Trump said on “Fox & Friends.”

Trump announced in mid-2011 that he would not run as a presidential candidate under the GOP ticket and switched his voter registration to ‘independent’ last month – a move that indicates Trump’s clear intention to run as a presidential candidate.

Media reports have said Trump could potentially run under the online third-party group, Americans Elect

Michael Cohen, Trump’s counsel and spokesperson, neither confirmed or denied if the billionaire had spoken with Americans Elect about representing their party. But he added: "A merger between the two would be significant and should cause both parties, Republicans and Democrats, to become concerned."

Regardless, Trump’s flirtation with running as a 2012 presidential candidate has been clear if the GOP picks an inadequate candidate.

“I do have my ducks in line if I want to do it, but I’d love to see the Republicans pick somebody that was going to win and take over this country and frankly, to use the expression, make America great again,” he said.
