North Korean kindergarten no joke

GlobalPost

What really goes on in North Korea is anyone's guess. Recently, the notoriously reclusive Kim Jong Il has been quieter than usual — though that's likely a measure of the pace of news coming out of the Middle East and Japan rather than the fact that he's changed his ways.

But every once in a while, we get a glimpse of what life must be like in places like Pyongyang and Cheongjin.

In this video out of Cheongjin, North Korean kindergartners play guitar like it's their job. The rigor of their training comes through with every bob of their little heads.

Watch the pride of Cheongam Kindergarten take the stage in this mesmerizing, unsettling rendition of "Our Kindergarten Teacher" for North Korean TV.

Thanks to Robert Koehler and his blog the Marmot's Hole for drawing our attention to these mini-comrades on guitar:
