Indians push for more strikes on Pak terror
Soon after the news broke that US special forces had killed Osama bin Laden in Pakistan, a sub-section of India began to ask if there might be more on the table.
"I am happy about the death of Osama Bin Laden. We now need to hunt down Dawood Ibrahim. Indian government should now initiate immediate steps to catch Dawood Ibrahim dead or alive," Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi tweeted immediately after President Obama's announcement.
Ibrahim, an international mobster formerly based out of Mumbai, now lives relatively openly in Pakistan. India believes that he planned and executed a series of bomb blasts in India in 1993. But, much as it did with regard to bin Laden, Pakistan has denied any knowledge of the whereabouts of the mobster.
Meanwhile, Indian Air Chief Marshal P V Naik told reporters that India, too, has the capacity to launch surgical strikes on terror camps within Pakistan — an option that many Indians hoped the country would exercise after the Mumbai attacks.
