To celebrate the 80th anniversary of Rio de Janeiro’s Christ the Redeemer statue, the city’s Catholic archdiocese has announced plans to send replicas of the city’s iconic hilltop statue to 25 foreign capitals.

The 12-foot-tall copies are meant to be displayed in outdoor public spaces, accompanied by an audio-visual exhibition on the monument’s origins. The first Jesus is set to arrive in Madrid next August, with others destined for New York City, Tokyo, Rome and Luanda, Angola. (Angola and Brazil are both former colonies of Portugal, in case you were wondering).
