Bad Idea: Gates Stops AIDS Funding for India

Bill Gates is taking his money and going home, reports CNN/IBN… At least when it comes to funding for India's HIV/AIDS intitiatives. Yep. Bill will no longer pay to help India stop aids, because the program is already succeeding (HIV/AIDS infection rates have declined) and his money can help more elsewhere.

That may be, but I'd be surprised if I'm the only one who's a little concerned that Indian government money may be a little more loosely monitored than GatesBucks. (If Rajiv Gandhi's 1980s math is right, only 1 out of 10 rupees spent by the government hits the intended target).

It also means almost $338 million less to fight the HIV/AIDS epidemic in India after 2012, an amount committed by the GATES Foundationn's initiative Avahan, in the year 2009, the news channel reported.
