Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain talks to voters from the Des Moines Register’s Soapbox during the second day of the Iowa State Fair August 12, 2011 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Last week, The Omaha World-Herald ran an article on Republican presidential candidate Herman Cain's time running Godfather's Pizza that you probably did not read. On the newspaper's website, the article included a video of Cain performing a pizza-themed version of John Lennon's "Imagine" at a 1991 Omaha Press Club event. On Monday, The Daily Beast posted a shortened clip of the performance, and the video went viral — at least among political junkies.
Choice lines include "Imagine there's no pizza, I couldn't if I tried…" and "Imagine only burgers, it's frightening and sad…" Cheesy lyrics aside (pun intended), the guy can flat sing. As TPM points out, Cain has released a gospel album and he jammed with Mike Huckabee at the Ames Straw Poll.
