A powerful blast ripped through a crowd gathered outside the Delhi High Court Wednesday morning, injuring at least 24 people, some of whom suffered severe burns, India's NDTV reports.
Exploding at 10:15 this morning, the explosive device was apparently some kind of bomb kept in a suitcase near the counter where visitors and litigants line up to receive passes for entry to the court. Between 100 and 200 people were waiting in the line this morning, the channel said.
With five fire engines on call to contain any subsequent explosions, Delhi police are searching the court premises and Mumbai has been placed on high alert.
According to a lawyer interviewed by NDTV, there was no high profile case on the docket today.
