Lady Gaga was among those present at a $35,800-a-person political fundraiser for President Barack Obama on Sunday, according to CNN.

About 70 people attended the event, held in a tent outside the Silicon Valley home of Facebook chief operating officer Cheryl Sandberg.

ABC News reports that Gaga asked Obama a question during a question and answer session:

According to a source present in the tent fundraiser, Gaga asked a question during the Q&A. She first thanked the president for what he’s accomplished, then read from what she said was a letter from a fan about the suicide of another fan who had been subjected to bullying.

She thanked Obama for hosting his anti-bullying conference with Michelle Obama, and then made a general plea to everyone in the room, including the president, to do what they can to prevent bullying.

Before the dinner, Gaga and Obama spoke briefly in a photo line.

According to CNN, Gaga wrote a Twitter message last week saying that she was going to meet the president and talk about "how to stop bullying" in the wake of the suicide of Jamey Rodemeyer, a teenager who took his life last week.

"Jamey Rodemeyer, 14 yrs old, took his life because of bullying," Gaga wrote on Twitter. "Bullying must become be illegal. It is a hate crime."

CNN reports that Rodemeyer referenced Gaga as "mother monster" in his last post on Twitter.

Jamey Rodemeyer took his life on September 18. His final Twitter post said: "bye mother monster, thank you for all you have done, paws up forever" and was included in her video tribute to him.

Gaga calls herself "mother monster" and her fans "little monsters."
