Tea Party advocate Christine O'Donnell – who walked off Piers Morgan's CNN show Wednesday – said she ended the interview because Morgan's line of questioning was “creepy”, and too sexual.
The former U.S. Senate candidate told NBC's Today program on Thursday that she's had enough of the “borderline sexual harassment” she was being subjected to on Piers Morgan Tonight.
O'Donnell appeared on the show on Wednesday, after she had been invited to promote her new book Troublemaker.
During the interview, O'Donnell — who has made comments about opposing masturbation — was asked whether she still believed it was wrong, and if she supported total abstinence.
O'Donnell became angry when Morgan asked her if she supported gay marriage, saying that he was being "a little bit rude."
But O’Donnell told Fox’s Steve Chenevey that it was not the gay marriage question that was upsetting, reports Cnews.com:
He had a decidedly inappropriate line of questions leading up to that, that many people — bloggers — are saying was just borderline creepy.
O'Donnell said she did not appear on the show to talk about sex — and Morgan "would not stop trying to talk about sex.” She told Chenevey she had not wanted to do the interview in the first place, because she knew that Morgan "resorted to these dirty tricks."
Plus, reports Cnews, O'Donnell had more important places to be the night of the CNN broadcast, namely a Republican Women’s event where everyone was speculating as to her whereabouts.
Despite the bad press (one Washington Post commentator said Christine O’Donnell only does things that will cause people to Google Christine O’Donnell), the Delaware Republican finished by saying Morgan was "a cheeky bugger" and that she wishes him well.
